But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God…. For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.  Acts 20:24 & 27

Paul’s Passion

What a marvelous saint. The apostle Paul had one single passion. That was to glorify God through the truth of the Lord Jesus Christ. To him, his own life was expendable for the cause of Christ. He did not waver; he did not faint. He finished his course with joy, though he suffered many trials (2 Corinthians 4:8-12). He called this suffering “our light affliction… which works a far more and exceeding eternal weight of glory” (vs. 17).

Why? Because he knew the only hope for mankind was the gospel of the grace of God. He taught everything he knew to the people he came in contact with. He held back nothing that was true and needful for them. He spent his life for this cause.

Do you and I see the importance of what Paul did? Does it motivate us in any way to share with our fellow man, the gospel of the grace of God?

Remember, God’s grace is unmerited. That is the marvel of our salvation! We do not deserve it, but it is given to us as a free gift, on the basis of faith in the shed blood of Christ. When we realize that… we fall upon our face in repentance, rejecting all other thoughts of man’s religion that would lead to destruction.

(Luke 11:34)
