And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.  Revelation 19:16

The Supreme Title

Amazing how we love titles. We see them on doors and desks, movies and ministries, books and blogs. And, yes, I have one on the top of this page!

Titles are often useful to introduce us to what we need to know about a thing. They give us insight into our decisions, or the course of action we must choose.
Since you’ve been reading this devotional, you know that I am attempting to make us all think a little more about God. I give the title, the verse, and then the sub-title. By that time you have already begun to form a thought about the subject we are addressing that day. Titles are important.

This “Supreme Title” is the most important title of all. This title refers to the LORD Jesus Christ. It is in reference to the time when He comes to reign. On His vesture He will have a name written: “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS”. It is the title of the One Who will rule over all the world. He is the first, and will be the final, perfect ruler. As the eternal Son of God, He will reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit throughout Eternity. But, there will come another, before Him who will attempt to deceive the people. He will set himself up to be God. Surprisingly, many will be deceived and actually believe him. Jesus warned of this false Christ. “I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive” (John 5:43). Maybe we should just believe the Bible, which reveals the true Christ with The Supreme Title, “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS”.
